Summer is just around the corner and for many in this area, that means hitting the water. Join us at noon on Wednesday, May 23rd for a free class on boating and fishing safety taught by an officer with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Lunch and Learn is a free class offered every Wednesday in the Round Room of the library. Patrons are encouraged to bring their lunch in and eat while they learn.

The Friends of the Library help host the Scholastic Book Fair inside the Round Room starting on Monday, June 4th-Sunday, June 10th. This sale will include books for the entire family. Proceeds from the book sale help support our summer reading program.

For the first concert of the summer the Paragould High School Jazz band will join us to play music from the 30's-70's. The concert will start at 6:30 p.m. on June 5th on the lawn at 315 Oak Avenue. Bring your chairs and blankets, even your picnic baskets, and enjoy the music. Our concert series is sponsored by Andy's Frozen Custard! They will be handing out free custard at each of the four concerts - stop by and say thank you when you pick up your free treat!

Jessie Olsen and Erlene Wise from the Transplant Garden Club will teach a dual class on Wednesday, June 6th on lasagna gardening and composting in a bottle. Both of the gardening tricks use a small space to accomplish the goal. Lasagna gardening uses cardboard to grow plants, while composting in a bottle requires a 2-liter bottle.
