The library will host a retirement celebration for our Director Phyllis Burkett on Sunday, April 7th from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the library round room. After 33 years leading the Crowley Ridge Regional Library and Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library Burkett will retire in June.

The library offers free Zumba Fitness Classes every Monday and Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the Round Room. This hour long class is for adults only. Zumba is a latin inspired dance exercise class. Instructor Brooke Poff leads the class in routines that are easy to learn.

This class starts at 6 p.m. every Monday and meets in the library in the non-fiction section. This is for experienced knitters and for beginners. If you're a beginner, don't worry about bringing anything, we'll supply you with needles and yarn to get started with.

Every 2nd Monday of the month a book discussion group meets in the library Civic League Room at 6:30 p.m. to discuss graphic novels. On April 8th the group will be discussing "Skim" by Mariko Tomaki and Brian K. Vaughn. They'll also be handing out "Identity Crisis" by Brad Meltzer.

Master gardener Erlene Wise will lead our Lunch and Learn program on Wednesday, April 10th. She will teach a class on herb gardening. There are several herbs that can be planted in April and into May. You will learn about herbs and how to grow them. You will also be able to take some herb startings home with you.

It's craft time in the Children's Library! Kids can pick up a set of needles and a ball of yarn starting on September 5th and learn how to knit! Ms. Vivi Chase will start off teaching some of the basics of knitting to those who have never knitted and will work with the kids to complete projects. The classes are held every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Children's Library.

Just in time for prom our teens will be treated to a pre-prom event at the library! This event will be guest hosted by Lee Prince from Tanglez. The free event will feature a demonstration. We'll also have tips to help you get ready for your big night!

This class gives you an overview of buying and selling using the classifieds website Craigslist. This is an online site for classified ads. This class will be held on Thursday, April 11th at 10:00 a.m. in the Training Lab. Registration is not required, but it does help us know how many to expect.
