7 (general_event) 4/7: "Retirement Celebration" Start: 04/07/2013 2:30 pm The library will host a retirement celebration for our Director Phyllis Burkett on Sunday, April 7th from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the library round room. After 33 years leading the Crowley Ridge Regional Library and Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library Burkett will retire in June. This hour long class is for adults only. Zumba is a latin inspired dance exercise class. Instructor Brooke Poff leads the class in routines that are easy to learn. On April 8th the group will be discussing "Skim" by Mariko Tomaki and Brian K. Vaughn. They'll also be handing out "Identity Crisis" by Brad Meltzer. She will teach a class on herb gardening. There are several herbs that can be planted in April and into May. You will learn about herbs and how to grow them. You will also be able to take some herb startings home with you. Kids can pick up a set of needles and a ball of yarn starting on September 5th and learn how to knit! Ms. Vivi Chase will start off teaching some of the basics of knitting to those who have never knitted and will work with the kids to complete projects. The classes are held every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the Children's Library.
