This is the season when many are thinking of the things they are thankful for and celebrating the holidays with friends and family.  This is also the time of year that the public library likes to show gratitude as well.  The Friends of the Library, who volunteer their time to help support programs, events and services offered at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library will host their annual Holiday Open House on Wednesday, December 13th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. in the Round Room.  “The support of the Friends of the Library is essential to our library. They sponsor several library programs throughout the year. The Open House is great place to learn more about what the organization does and how they support the local library,” said Sallee.

Refreshments will be served.  “The Friends of the Library Holiday Open House provides a great opportunity to visit with people in the community and enjoy some holiday music,” said CCJPL Assistant Director Morgan Salle.   Enjoy holiday music, while learning about the Friends of the Library and all of the things they do to support the library. All of the money the FOL raises through the bookshop and through member dues come back to support the library. This event is free and open to everyone.  “Anyone can become a Friend of the Library with a small donation of $10 per year. All of the money from membership dues and bookshop sales comes back to the library and helps us provide services and programs to our community,” said Sallee.
