Early Learning Kits (ELK)
What are Early Learning Kits?
Early Learning Kits or ELKs are thematic-based kits for children in pre-k, kindergarten, and first grade. Families and teachers can use these kits for educational purposes. Each kit has 5-9 books, an educational game or puzzle, and a folder that includes a list of bag contents, educational activities for each theme that include literacy, math, science, and art activities, along with their corresponding frameworks, templates for printable materials, and extras, such as recipes and songs. Each kit checks out for 2 weeks at a time and will only take up one item on a patron's library card.
